After opening the business as a blow-dry bar in 2016 after much demand we developed a lesson to help individuals learn how to Blow-dry like us, most famously our curly blow drys. Since then we have trained people from all around the country with students even flying from different countries to learn The Essex Girl pin curls.
Your lesson could be 1-2-1 or you may be with another student. We do not do any more than 2 students together and this is to give you detailed training and the attention you need to pick up the skill, also unlike other academies you learn on live models not dolls heads.
Course Description:
Our course allows you to learn our curly blow-dry as a beginner or refresh your existing blow-dry skills with our talented Blow-dry Artist in our beautiful girlie salon.
Who is this course aimed at?
This course is designed for complete beginners of any age or gender! We teach people with no previous experience.
We also teach hairdressers who want to perfect their craft. If you are wanting a new career and to make money from this you may want to choose the ultimate stylist lesson.
What will I learn during this course?
This Lesson is taught by our best Blow girl who will teach you a mixture of theory followed by practical methods.
We will give you an extensive list of products and equipment we use that make our blow-dries our way. Unlike other lessons where they teach on a dolls head, we teach on two live models on the day which means you’ll go home with photos to start your portfolio and a manual to help you remember what you’ve learnt.

Will I need a kit?
No, you will not need a kit as we will provide you with ours on the day giving you the opportunity on the day to purchase a kit at the end of the lesson or Discounts on our favourite products.
Will I need to bring a model with me?
Ideally you will need two models on the day, you are unable to bring them with we can provide models at an additional cost. Please enquire about what hair type you will need for the lesson.
Will i gain a certificate at the end?
Yes, you will gain an accredited Blow-dry certificate by ABT insurance
How long is the lesson?
This lesson is a 4 1/2 hour lesson which is enough time to do 2 full blow drys on two different models. Learning a leave in brush technique and a pin curl technique.
We do have some students who decide to do a full day Lesson which is the above lesson with more styling . We do this for £350! It’s an intense full day and I would recommend this lesson if you don’t pick something up straight away as you’ll get the extra support!

We do an online Blow-dry Lesson for those that don’t have the time to come to us.
