After falling into administration and closing its doors at every single store in the UK, a flagship Debenhams beauty store is opening in Manchester’s Arndale shopping centre and will sell cosmetics, fragrances, and skincare products.
reports that the launch of the store, which is spread across two floors and a total retail space of 7,552 sq ft, will give customers a chance to experience the latest from Debenhams Beauty. Debenhams.com says it wants to create a destination that is 'fresh, modern, and unique'.
The BooHoo Group, which bought the department store brand, said: “Being an almost exclusively online company, it was essential that the store reflected that digital world, the interactive screens connect these two worlds, with real-time posting via social media platforms displayed immediately on them.”
The store officially opened on 9 December and had invited customers to visit the store for a VIP event.
The first 50 customers received a goodie bag with any purchase on the night, as well as beauty demonstrations, exclusive offers, and free samples from iconic beauty brands who will make the flagship store their home.
Jeanette Whithear, Homeware & Beauty Director Debenhams.com said the firm was delighted to open the store in the Arndale, especially with Manchester being the home of the BooHoo group.
“It feels like an organic location for this exciting retail space within the heart of the city,” she said.
“Since April we have reintroduced multiple brands to Debenhams.com as well as new ones, that have really grown the offering for our customers.”
She added that with this next step in the journey for Debenhams.com Beauty, she was excited to see the crossover from the company’s digital and physical elements come to life in the store, as well as increasing the range of brands in 2022.
