Which Eyebrow Treatment Is Right For You?
Your eyebrows lend character to your face and draw attention to your eyes, which are your most expressive facial feature. Therefore, well-groomed brows will not only show off your face to best advantage, but help you communicate more confidently. There are several brow treatments to consider, so here’s a quick guide to help you decide the best for you.
Brow lamination
This treatment is described as a ‘perm for your eyebrows’. It makes the brows thicker and fuller in appearance, and allows the hairs to be redirected and set in a more even shape. If you have untidy straggly ends to your brows, but you want to keep the volume, then lamination is a great option as it will straighten them out.
Microblading
This is a treatment
designed for those with thin eyebrows, who want a semi-permanent fill. It is a form of tattooing in which tiny fine point needles are used to create very fine feathery strokes which resemble hairs. The result is very natural, and the pigment and techniques can be adjusted for intensity. The procedure lasts for 12 to 18 months.
Ombre brows
Also known as powder brows, this is a similar treatment to microblading in that it uses a semi-permanent tattoo to give definition to the brows. However, a digital tool is used to deposit tiny dots of colour in between the hairs, which gives a powdery look, similar to the effect that using a cosmetic powder brush would have.
Eyebrow threading
This method is used to give shape to the brows, and is considered a good alternative to waxing for those with sensitive skin. Twisted threads are used to remove stray brow hairs by the follicle, but it doesn’t remove any layers of skin, unlike waxing. The effects of threading will usually last two to four weeks.
