Autumn’s Biggest Hair Trends
There might be a good few weeks of summer left yet, but the fashion and beauty trendsetters are already looking at autumn, and predicting what styles we will be sporting in the cooler months.
From hairstyles to colours, we have a look at some of the predicted hair trends coming this autumn so you can get prepared to be ahead of the curve when it comes to the latest hair trends.
One of the biggest hair trends of the year has been the return of the fringe. A fringe is a great way to make a drastic change to your hair without losing length. While anything goes when it comes to the current fringe trends, there will be a more maximalist style as we get to autumn as thick and full fringes will be very popular.
Thick fringes look incredibly stylish when paired with any hair length, from a short bob to mid-length cuts to long locks, and is a fantastic way to update your hair for the new season.
Hair colours tend to be cyclical, so it comes as no surprise that the experts are predicting the return of coppers, reds and auburn this autumn. However, one of the more unexpected hair colour predictions comes with smokey undertones, as the experts predict that brunettes will be wanting more ashy undertones, rather than warm, and blondes may want silvery tones.
Adam Reed, UK Editorial Ambassador for L’Oreal Professionnel, has coined this the 'big smoke blonde’ and it's going to be huge for autumn 2021.
“We’ll see colour across all hair tones become more ashy to add some dimension to your natural base,” he said.
“Blondes that are a mix of a beautiful golden blonde with smokey, ashy tones and sandy tonal highlights for a stunning greige finish.”
