While we are big fans of how blow drying can make your hair look, for some of us it doesn’t always turn out as intended and, if you have the type of hair that’s prone to frizz, applying heat to it can make it do just that.
Don’t worry if this is a problem that you’ve suffered from in the past because there are some simple steps you can take to ensure you have the perfect finish to your hair, no frizz in sight.
Yahoo! recently shared some advice, starting with making sure you use a heat protectant on your hair before you go near it with your hair dryer.
What these products do is seal your hair cuticles, which prevents your hair losing moisture when it’s heated and therefore significantly reduces the chances that your hair will become frizzy.
Another top tip is to apply hair oil while your hair is still damp and, again, before you put your hair dryer on it. Not only do these products moisturise your hair, but they also result in a smooth finish to your style.
When it comes to your blow drying technique, meanwhile, the key is to dry your hair in the direction that it grows. That means you should always blow dry with your hair dryer pointing down towards the ground, not up towards your scalp. If you do the latter, you’re setting yourself up for a frizzy finish.
We recently shared some advice on how to protect your hair when you’re using hair dryers and other heated styling tools, so make sure you take this advice on board too as it will ensure your hair stays healthy as well as looking its best.
