Keep It Flowing With Liquid Hair
Every new year brings with it predictions about the dominant styles and fashions of the coming 12 months, most of which seem to contradict each other and be based on guesswork. However, sometimes a new style emerges that is already in pole position to dominate in the months ahead.
In the case of 2022, this fashion is ‘liquid hair’. If you are not familiar with the concept, this is a look where water is both flowing, while at the same time having a wet, reflective look.
This is not about how hair looks just after emerging from the shower, but all day long. It’s been embraced by the likes of Zendaya and Jodie Comer among current celebrities.
Speaking to Metro News, hair stylist Tyler of Live True London said: “This trend is fluid, ultra-shiny and reflective hair, with zero flyaways or frizz. The hair is so glossy - it looks and moves like liquid.”
However, the paper notes, it isn’t a totally new style - the likes of Kim Kardashian and Cher have rocked it in the past - but it has made a major comeback.
It’s not just the Metro News stating all this. Glamour UK has been quick to state this was one new trend it has predicted, declaring: “Last year we called it. Liquid hair is the super-glossy hair trend that we predicted would go stratospheric.“
Anyone planning to undertake a hair and makeup course in Essex will clearly do well to take note
of the new trend and its popularity, not least as a number of celebrities will be driving its popularity.
Glamour has suggested a version of this style called the ‘liquid bob’ will be particularly successful, not least as the bob was so popular in 2021, making a combination of the two an obvious choice in 2022.
Of course, other styles will emerge in time as the latest in hair fashion, but for those embarking on a career in the beauty industry, it’s worth noting that, sometimes at least, predictions of what will be ‘in’ can actually turn out to be true.
