We all know that beauty and fashion trends can be cyclical, and many will have already have noticed that the styles of the 90s are making a comeback. But one that many people wouldn’t have expected is the return of skinny eyebrows.
Glamour
magazine reports on the return of the skinny brow, noting they were a hit two decades ago with celebrities such as Linda Evangelista, Gwen Stefani and Drew Barrymore, but were replaced with the big, bushy brows we associate with Cara Delevingne.
But, not they’re back, and the charge is being led by model Bella Hadid, who while she might never have claimed the bushy brow look, was ricking the super skinny brows on the red carpets at this year’s Cannes Film Festival, showing how the straight, sharp, and super-slim brows emphasise her enviable chiselled bone structure.
Celebrities such as Rihanna have also been photographed wearing the look. For Vogue Italia, the singer and businesswoman was shown with dark micro-eyebrows.
However, it may not be a look for everyone, as there will be plenty of Gen-Xers still struggling with the brows they over-plucked 25 years ago, and maybe still scarred from the experience!
Thinner brows can be a real tell-tale sign of age, so they can age you prematurely. And fuller brows have been proven to be scientifically more attractive.
They add a youthful look and can make one appear better groomed and generally more put together.
For those curious but not quite ready to fully commit to skinny eyebrows, TikTok also has a time warp scan feature that allows users to try out different eyebrow looks.
