What Make-up To Take On Holiday
Holidays are usually a time when people go crazy with their cameras, clicking away whenever there’s a new sunset, site, or sangria. Therefore, it is understandable that women want to look their best when in front of the camera, but it can also be difficult to maintain full make-up when you’re hot, sweaty, and sandy.
That’s why we’ve put together our tips on what make-up to stick to when you jet off this summer.
- Ditch the foundation
The first rule is to swap your foundation for something lighter like a BB cream or tinted moisturiser. You don’t need heavy coverage, as it will simply wash off with sweat or water, and leave you looking streaky.
Make-up artist in LA Fiona Stiles told Good Housekeeping: “Make-up likes to move around when it’s hot, so the best way to avoid that is to wear less of it.”
- Bronzer
You might be hoping for a natural tan, but enahnce your sun-kissed glow with some shimmering bronzer on your cheekbones. It’ll give you that natural made-up look, especially when blending on to your neck and decolletage.
- Eye primer
Ditch any cream eyeshadow, as this will shift in the heat, and opt for an eye primer underneath powder instead. This will minimise the risk of eye shadow creasing and make your look last longer in the sunshine.
- Go waterproof
It goes without saying that if you’re spending all day hopping in and out of the pool, you can’t expect your make-up to stay perfect. However, it is wise to waterproof as much as you can with water-resistant mascara or lip and cheek stains.
Lash extensions are a great alternative, or ladies who like to fill in their eyebrows should book microblading treatments in Brentwood
before they fly.
