What To Eat For Healthy Hair
Enjoying a beautiful head of bouncy, healthy hair isn’t just about washing it regularly, keeping it untangled and using all the latest products for body and shine - you can also help to keep your locks looking luscious by focusing on lifestyle, as well.
Diet has a really important role in both hair and skin quality, so if you have been feeling as though your hair is a little on the thin side of late, it might be down to what you’re eating… and the good news is that this is an easy fix!
You can help to promote hair growth by increasing your protein intake, so stock the fridge with lots of eggs as these are really high in protein. If you’re vegan, avoid the eggs and go for tofu instead, as this is incredibly high in protein and a really good swap to make.
You can scramble it in the same way you would use your eggs and add in some turmeric for a bit of an added health boost, while kala namak (a rock salt used a lot in South Asia) helps to give it that eggy flavour.
Spinach is another ingredient that’s also really good for both skin and hair, full of amazing vitamins and nutrients like iron and folate, as well as vitamins A and C. It’s also a really versatile vegetable and can be used in multiple ways - and it goes with all sorts of other ingredients, so you’ll find yourself cooking with it a lot.
Omega-3 fatty acids are also great for the promotion of hair growth so stock up on the likes of mackerel, herring and salmon to see if this makes a difference.
