How To Get Feel-Good Hair As You Get Older
Shedding hair is a normal part of life and, as we get older, we tend to lose a bit more of our hair than when we were younger.
But, as Good Housekeeping recently pointed out, one in four women can experience menopausal hair loss between the ages of 50 and 70. That means your hair can feel thinner and not look as full and glorious as it once did, which we all know can get you down.
However, the publication shared some top tips to help you stay confident in how your hair looks and feels.
These tips apply whether you’re in that older age bracket or not - it never hurts to have some techniques for boosting your hair and your mood. Using deep conditioning treatments can help anyone who has very thick or very dry hair, for instance, while those with fine hair could find that a leave-in conditioner is especially useful.
Stress can contribute to how our hair looks and to whether we notice that we’re shedding more hair, so look for ways to minimise the stress in your life as much as possible.
It’s also important to look after your hair. We love a good blow dry as much as the next person, but we’re also aware that you need to protect your hair from the heat to prevent damage. Not sure how best to do this? Join one of our Essex blow dry courses to get some advice.
As we move into winter, it’s also worth giving your hair a little extra TLC. We recently shared some advice on how to do this, including washing your hair less frequently and turning the heat on the shower down just a touch.
